A Little About Me
For over 20 years, I've been an editor and reader for members of my writing communities. I've worked with these writers to prepare their manuscripts for submission to agents and publishers or for self-publishing.

What I Read / Edit
I read (and edit) a wide variety of fiction. My go-to genres are fantasy, science fiction, thrillers, and romance (from sweet to steamy erotica). I'm particularly drawn to stories with supernatural or magical elements. I avoid gorefests. I read non-fiction, but I rarely edit it.

Developmental Edit: Big Picture Edit. I look for plot holes, story arc, character development, world building, pacing, and the like. If you have specific concerns, let me know, and I'll look for them as well!
Line Edit: While I do check for grammar errors, I focus on flow, word choice, narrative and character voice (dialogue), and clarity.
Remember: a line edit is not a proofread.
Alpha Reading: Your manuscript may be a rough draft (it may not even be complete) or you may have self-edited and completed a rewrite or two. I will read to see if the plot makes sense, the characters' motivations and reactions are reasonable and consistent, does the pacing work, is more (or less) world building needed. If you have specific concerns, let me know.
Beta Reading: Your manuscript is complete and has been edited, but now you need readers to provide you with feedback on their opinion. I'll produce a "high-school English class" critique of your work. I'll tell you what I liked, what I didn't like, and what worked and didn't work for me. I'll also suggest ways to fix those things.
Creative Consulting: This service is based on what you and your manuscript need. I can help you brainstorm your way out of a corner, figure out why a scene or a character isn't working, help you world build, and a myriad other things that won't fit here.
